Benefits of Walk & Talk Counselling

It gets you moving - both literally and figuratively.

Being outdoors in nature can be meditative and grounding.

Great alternative, if you feel too anxious to sit opposite a counsellor.

Walking reduces feelings of depression and anxiety, through the release of endorphins in your body.

Some people think better on their feet; helping recall memories, thoughts and feelings in the present moment.

You set the walking pace of the session.  The walking pace can be as relaxing or fast - you choose.

But What About.....

Q: If we run into people I know?

A: If we see someone you know, you will simply indicate that to me and we will stop talking until the person is out of earshot. We will just casually say 'hello' and not slow down.

Q: Will people know that a counselling session is taking place?

A: No, it's just two people walking and talking; there is nothing to say that counselling is taking place.

Q: If I start to become emotional and cry?

A: I carry with me tissues and if you become emotional while walking, we will find a place to stop and rest for a bit. As a precaution, you can chose to wear sunglasses.

Q: Can we get a coffee or a refreshment together after the session?

A: No, while our session is outdoors, it is not a social meeting.
